EAST MEETS WEST! NORBAR OPENS NEW LABORATORY IN SINGAPORE

Norbar Torque Tools Ltd is the only manufacturer of torque measurement equipment with laboratories on four continents that can calibrate its customers’ instruments to the same high standards it uses in its own factories. The company now has facilities in the UK, Australia, the US and Singapore.

All four sites work to ISO/IEC 17025:2000, which covers testing and calibration laboratories, so torque equipment customers can be sure that they will receive the same high quality service from accredited facilities around the world.

The UK laboratory, at Banbury in Oxfordshire, is UKAS accredited and offers a calibration service for all brands of torque wrench, torque multiplier and torque testing device rated up to 6,800 N.m. In addition to the UKAS accredited services, traceable calibrations up to 100,000 N.m are offered.

The Adelaide laboratory, accredited by Australia’s NATA , and the US site at Willoughby, Ohio, accredited by NVLAP, have the same calibration scope up to 6,800 N.m. Norbar expects third party accreditation by ‘SINGLAS’ for the Singapore operation early next year.

The new laboratory is at the forefront of Norbar’s strategy of expanding sales in South East Asia through providing the best possible service. In addition to the calibration facilities, extensive stock is being held and tool repair facilities will be provided.
